real-time analysis
Intelligent and real-time video analysis is a key function in many visual applications. Multiple algorithms, such as motion detection, face recognition and object detection, often need to run simultaneously across multiple camera sources. With Intel ® FPGA and Intel ® FPGA deep learning acceleration kit, designers can use the industry standard artificial intelligence framework, model and topology to create a multi-purpose accelerator based on FPGA to implement the convolutional neural network reasoning engine. By unloading the computing intensive workload from the host CPU to the FPGA accelerator, designers can optimize the implementation of these algorithms across CPU + FPGA resources and improve the overall system performance.
Flexible sensor interface
Image sensor suppliers usually use private interfaces, and the sensor interfaces are constantly developing to adapt to the increasingly improved sensor functions. Intel ® FPGA enables designers to easily adopt new sensor interfaces without changing other parts of the design. In contrast, ASSP requires designers to adopt the new ASSP and redesign the camera circuit board.
High performance video and image signal processing
Intel ® FPGA enables designers to design high-performance video and signal processing systems quickly and flexibly. Using IP cores such as Intel's video and image processing (VIP) suite, designers can find and select the required video processing functions, and use high-performance FPGA architecture to accelerate the video preprocessing of high-resolution video.
Efficient video compression
H. Efficient compression standards such as 264 / h.265 support the use of smaller FPGA to reduce system cost. Video codec and other video processing functions are integrated into one FPGA, which can help designers greatly reduce the bill of materials (BOM). Intel provides a variety of video compression IP cores, enabling designers to flexibly support a variety of compression standards and indicators according to application requirements.
